Visit

Tours

We are open to visitors on Saturdays 1:00-4:00pm from June through the end of September. Outside of these hours, you will need to contact us by email or phone to arrange a visit. Special visits require 48 hours notice to arrange.

Visitors can view the current exhibit on display as well as see the Quitman House.

The Quitman House
The museum is located in the area where the town was first settled. It is housed in the former parsonage, built in 1798 by the parishioners of the nearby “Old Stone Church”, for The Reverend Frederick H. Quitman. Rev. Quitman served the Lutheran congregation over 30 years.

Conducting Research

To see specific items in the collections or do research on a particular topic, you will need to contact the Museum ahead of time.

Please specify the items and/or provide detailed information on the topic. Because we are a volunteer organization, including our curator, we cannot accommodate requests for information or a visit with less than 7 days notice.

We also cannot accommodate research visits during Museum hours as the docent on duty has other responsibilities that day.

It takes time to locate items within our collections as well as research the topic in question, we appreciate your help with this.
